A statement that everybody on the conference hall stunned, as Mr. Larry G. Jamudas representative of PAG-IBIG office, spoke about the abbreviation of PAG-IBIG and try to explain the meaning of it on the Orientation and Updates symposium held at SP Session Hall, Legislative Building, D.O. Plaza Government Center, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

Over 90 government employees joined the said symposium initiated by the Provincial Human Resource and Management Office of Agusan del Sur, as part of the 113th year celebration of the Philippine Civil Service.

Everybody was listening to Mr. Jamudas presentation since the agency he represented is the primary agency that anyone who wants to build their own house.

Yes! You heard it right! PAG-IBIG helps those members who wanted to build their own house through the loan scheme from the agency.

Mr. Jamudas said that they have still 673,720 million pesos on their fund in Butuan City branch for Housing loan.

“And there are two new branches in Caraga region, one in Tandag City and one in San Francisco of this province,” he added.

The Tandag City branch already offers the same services that Butuan have. So, if you are from Surigao City or any nearby municipalities of Tandag, you will not go to Butuan branch anymore.

While in San Francisco branch, although it is not in fully operation and it only cater inquries like how to become a member. But still the members will not be sad because next year, 2014, the said branch will in fully operation.

Mr. Jamudas persuade the people to join in PAG-IBIG, whether you are a government employee, working on private companies, even in abroad and most of all if you are a “Kasambahay” (House helper). Since based on the Republic Act No. 9679, all the Filipino are welcome to join PAG-IBIG and the OFWs are required to become a member.

But PAG-IBIG is not just offering Housing loan, there are Multi-purpose loan and Calamity loan which will be a very great help in times of calamity and emergencies.

The symposium is one of the activities created by the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur as observance to the 113th Philippine Civil Service. Other agencies like GSIS and SSS also attended the said event.
