While the whole Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur is very busy in its preparations for the Naliyagan Festival, different youth groups from the 13 Municipalities and 1City of our province are gathering to prepare for the Hugyaw tu Agusan 2013!

Hugyaw which is translated into English means “shout”. It means shouting our praise and thanksgiving to God. The event invites all Agusanon, especially the youth, to join together in prayer and worship for the blessings received for the past year and to welcome another year with overflowing faith and hope.

Organizers come from different religious affiliation which is a living proof that we all should be united knowing that we all serve the same God.  Around 1,000 people are expected to join the said celebration which will be on June 8, 2013 from 1:00-7:00 PM. Aside from the mentioned goals, it is also an opportunity for the young agusanon to build friendship and build one another for the future of our province. The youth will always be the hope of our nation.

This year’s theme is “I Witness” which is inspired from the Book of Acts 1:8:  "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”. It is a call for everyone to witness and proclaim the love of God to each of us.
