Abu Sayyaf members abduct DSWD employee

ZAMBOANGA CITY - The rebel group Abu Sayyaf abducted one employee of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at Barangay Ulitan, Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan.

The authority said that the victim's name is Jenelyn Luna Enpera, social worker of DSWD that is currently assigned at the said municipality. And she is a resident of Isabela City, Basilan.

According to Mayor Jomar Maturan of Ungkaya Pukan at around 9 in the morning when the victim went to the place to conduct a meeting to the 4Ps beneficiaries and to see the projects of DSWD, when she was forced by 4 men carrying a .45 caliber pistol to come along with them.

 Two of the suspects were identified, alias Idol and alias Ulay and it has been said that both of them were members of Abu Sayyaf on that area.

The group fled using motorcycle going to the province of Sumisip and according to Mayor Maturan, they already told the victim, not to go there because of the security threat, but she insisted.

At this time, the PNP and AFP of Basilan and Sulu are still interacting with each other about the series of kidnapping.
