Tina and Eddiebong Plaza and Santi Cane Jr. Hit Their Positions
PATIN-AY, Agusan del Sur - The province of Agusan del Sur has finally declared their newly elected Representative of District 1, Provincial Governor and Province Vice-Governor on May 15, 2013 at the SP Session Hall, Gov. DOP Center, Prosperidad.
Cong.
Maria Valentina G. Plaza of the First District of Agusan del Sur got
74,537 votes,
Gov. Adolph Edward G. Plaza as Governor with 146,713 votes
and
Vice Gov. Santiago V. Cane Jr. with 129,096 .
The Provincial Canvassing was led by Atty. April Joy Balano, Provincial Board of Canvassers (PBOC) Chairman; Pros. Vicente Abugho, PBOC Vice-Chairman and Mrs. Gemma Depaz, PBOC Secretary. With the presence of each party's legal counsel and poll watchers.
Before the first day of the canvassing ended, Atty. Esparagoza, Legal Counselor of National Unity Party (NUP) raised a motion to the Provincial Board of Canvassers to proclaim Maria Valentina Plaza as the elected First District of Agusan del Sur; Adolph Edward Plaza as Governor and Santiago Cane Jr. as Vice-Governor. Despite of the absence of the election canvass of the municipality of La Paz.
According to Atty. Esparagoza, that the votes come from La Paz will not affect to the difference of votes between Adolph Edward Plaza and Isosceles Otero same with Santiago Cane Jr. and Victor Plaza. Even Otero got the whole votes from the municipality of La Paz, still he cannot cope up the votes difference of 69,294. And while Santi Cane and Victor Plaza have a marginalize vote of 57,327 votes.
In response to the said motion, the PBOC created Resolution 9700 that will proclaim the said candidates as winners on their respective slates but it should be signed by the Regional Director of Commission on Election (COMELEC).
And at around 2:00 PM on May 15, 2013, the PBOC proclaimed them as the newly elected Congresswoman, Governor and Vice-Governor.
