Agusan del Sur Pushes for Bata Muna Awareness



PROSPERIDAD, AGUSAN DEL SUR - As part of their series of nationwide awareness campaign, advocates for the rights and needs of the children for the first time launched the “Bata Muna: Bomoto Para sa Kapakanan ng Kabataan,” here recently.

The drive is geared at having voters elect candidates vying for various political positions in the May 2013 national and local elections who know and will stand up for the children.


On April 19, 2013, the Foundation for the Development of Agusanons, Inc. (ADFI) together with other members of the Caraga Emergency Resource Group (CERG) took the lead in the implementation of BATA MUNA in the province held at the Hygeia Medherbs Garden in Patin-ay.
 

The launching was attended by the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of San Francisco town, group of women from nine areas of Agusan Marsh, and San Francisco Mayor Jenny de Asis who is a member of the board of the foundation and stands as duty bearer, among other members.
 

Dr. Rex Linao, ADFI Executive Director explained to the youth the features of BATA MUNA and their big role in the community. He emphasized that their campaign is to choose the leader who will keenly focus on programs and issues involving the rights of the children.
 

BATA MUNA is a national campaign endorsed by the Commission on Elections and is implemented by various organizations, mostly the Save the Children Foundation and CERG. (PPIO-AgSur)
