Japanese attachés visit Pablo victims in Agusan del Sur

STA. JOSEFA, AGUSAN DEL SUR – Akio Isomata, Japanese Embassy Minister for Economic Affairs and Akio Yonezawa, Japanese Embassy Second Secretary recently visited this town to check on the status of on-going rehabilitation works after the Japanese government earlier extended assistance to Pablo victims.

    The Japanese diplomats went to Barangays Sayon, Concepcion and Patrocinio.  They were joined by country officers of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency.

Also accompanying the group were Governor Eddiebong Plaza, Vice-Governor Santiago Cane Jr., District 2 Boardmember Samuel Tortor, Mayor Glenn Plaza and DSWD Caraga officials headed by Director Minda Brigoli and Assistant Director Mita Lim.

    Isomata expressed satisfaction that the sleeping mattresses and tents they donated helped ease the condition of victims whose houses were totally destroyed by the typhoon. He added that his group conducted an ocular inspection in the ravaged areas to assess the situation and find out what other assistance they can extend to the affected residents.

    For his part, Governor Plaza relayed his appreciation to the Japanese government for the immediate dispatch of assistance after Pablo struck. He also cited the other development assistance they have provided to the people of Agusan del Sur.

    Mayor Plaza extended his gratitude to the officials and presented them tokens of appreciation in his office. (PPIO_AgSur)
